SEACROFT MARSH S.S.S.I.
Back
Seacroft Marsh consists of some 200 acres of mature saltmarsh, dune systems and saline lagoons.
There is a dynamic intertidal zone.
This satellite image was taken in2012 and shows the considerable erosian that has taken place over the past few years.
The outer dune ridge has been washed away from the old boat compound, southwards to a postion about half way along Seacroft Esplanade.
Large quantities of sand have been deposited onto the mature saltmarsh.
