Sea Lodge stands in half an acre of private garden on the East Coast of Lincolnshire. It is built on the West dune ridge which dates back more than 300 years and the land extends eastwards
to a dune ridge some 120 years old.
A few meters beyond this at the base of the dunes, the footpath has been redesignated as part of King Charles 111 Coast Path.
A 'lookout' has been built on the dune ridge at the Eastern end of the garden and gives extensive views across the Wash to the Norfolk coast some 13 miles away.
The garden surrounding the property is traditional
At an executive board meeting in March 2004 East Lindsey Districrict Council members agreed that this 276 acres of land should be earmarked for wildlife protection and become a new nature reserve. (LNR) (20 years on they have still failed to deliver)
Beyond the marsh is a further dune ridge (rapidly eroding) some 60 years old and beyond that the sea. (See map)
