First seen in July 2000, a large fly some 20 - 25 mm in length, Tachina Grossa. Noticed again in  August 2002 and a good specimen appeared on Oregano in July 2009

A horntail similar to the specimen below visited us on 14 August 2002. Some 4cm in length gave us quite a fright.

MOTHS - Thanks to Nige Lound who set up traps during

Those of note, Coast Dart and Shore Wainscot and
previously seen Convolulus Hawk-Moth and

OTHER INSECTS - A large number are present throughout most of the year. The following breed in                  the garden, red-banded sand wasp, bumble bees, bombus lucorum and
